Course Overview:

The REVIT architectural modeling program comprises intelligent building components, views, and annotations. This introductory course will lead the user through the basic procedures of designing an integrated building model. New topics will include: Project creation, navigation and display concepts, designing with components, working with levels, creating and editing walls, adding doors and windows, creating floor and roof objects, working with view properties, object styles, loading and modifying family components, adding dimensions and annotations, adding and modifying drawing sheets, and plotting procedures.

Course Outline:

  • Create and modify wall types with Autodesk Revit
  • Create and modify parametric components with Autodesk Revit
  • Create and modify parametric, 3D building models with Autodesk Revit
  • Work with the Revit display system to create floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, and presentation plans from a single building model.
  • Extract and annotate Floor plan drawings from a 3D Building model.
  • Extract and annotate Elevation drawings from a 3D building model.
  • Extract and annotate Section and Detail drawings from a 3D building model.
  • Generate rendered views of a 3D building model.
DELIVERY METHODS:

The delivery format of this course is DVD based video lectures and demonstrations with supplemental notes, samples, and other support files delivered electronically through internet access. Support is facilitated through email and website access.

ASSIGNMENT POLICY: (for each level)
  • The Instructor will set the date, time and place for the assignments.
  • There are four assignments, all of which will be clearly delineated in Handbooks.
  • Students are to submit all assignments through the computer network, on predetermined due dates.
  • Assignments to be submitted on the due date. Late assignments received after the course deadline will be penalized 10% for each week they are late.

Revit Architecture- Level 2
COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This advanced course will lead the user through the Family Editor where they will learn to create custom component families and work with parameters. Students will learn to work within the Conceptual Design Environment, creating massing studies and developing complex, formula driven masses to be used as the basis for actual building elements. Curtain wall systems and curtain walls will be studied in depth including the creation of custom curtain walls, nested walls, custom panels, and adaptive components. To finish the course, students will spend time learning to create and work with advanced view and annotation techniques to create Schedule Views, Legend Views, Custom Tags, and Keynotes.
