Program Description

Retail businesses vary in size from a small one-man operation to large international organisations. The needs of the consumer has now produced an amazing variety of retail outlets, all of which need to have organized managers.

This course is the ideal tool for students wanting to gain knowledge in the field of retail management, whether it is for the purpose of entering the retail trade through the establishment of a small business, or wanting to gain knowledge to allow for further study in the fields of management to enter a retail organisation at a higher level.

    1. Explain how to establish a controlled receiving system
  6. Security.
    1. Examine the Importance of Security in Retail Management
  7. Merchandising.
    1. Define "Merchandising"
  8. Housekeeping.
    1. Identify the factors that contribute towards a safe and healthy workplace
  9. Customer Relations and Buying Behavior of Customers.
    1. Explain why customer relations is one of the most important aspects of any business
  10. Stocktaking.
    1. Discuss why stock take is done
  11. Staff.
    1. Examine the importance of Staff motivation and training
  12. Budgets.
    1. Define the word "Budget".

This course is an online course. With online study you have access to your entire course from the start of your studies. You can access your course materials, and submit all of your question papers to your personal tutor, online from anywhere in the World using your unique student account.

There is no experience or previous qualifications required for enrolment on this course. It is available to all students, of all academic backgrounds.

 

We impose no time limits or pressures on you to complete your course material. Your course will not expire, and it will not become invalid until you have successfully completed it. All that we ask, is that you inform the College if you are intending to take a break from studying for a period of 6 months or more.

 

Depending on the course you study, each lesson should take you between 3 - 6 hours of study. Please note: This is only an approximate figure and is dependent upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.
